Violet May Stalnaker
January 29, 1922 - January 27, 2012
Violet May Stalnaker, 89, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012 in Charlotte, NC. She was born January 29, 1922 in Pennsylvania, and lived in Savannah, GA for 46 years before moving to Charlotte in 2010 to be near her two youngest daughters.
She traveled widely while her husband was in the Air Force and they raised three daughters. She was active in supporting the Chatham County school system while her eldest daughter was a teacher in Savannah.
She is survived by her two youngest daughters and sons-in–law, Mary and Doug Hyche and Linda and Charles Potts, all of Charlotte.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with burial following at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
